　絆バイアスのもとで、人々はいっそう自助努力に励むだろう。たとえ社会やシステムに不満があっても、「社会とはそういうものだ」という諦観が、絆をいっそう深めてくれる。そう、私には絆という言葉が、どうしようもない社会を前提とした自衛ネットワークにしか思えないのだ。

　それは現場で黙々と復興にいそしむ人々を強力に支えるだろう。しかし社会やシステムに対して異議申し立てをしようという声は、絆の中で抑え込まれてしまう。対抗運動のための連帯は、そこからは生まれようがない。

　なかでも最大の問題は「弱者保護」である。絆という言葉にもっとも危惧を感じるとすれば、本来は政府の仕事である弱者救済までもが「家族の絆」にゆだねられてしまいかねない点だ。

　かつて精神障害者は私宅監置にゆだねられ、高齢者の介護が全面的に家族に任された。いま高年齢化する「ひきこもり」もまた、高齢化した両親との絆に依存せざるを得ない状況がある。そして被災した人々もまた。
